Girabola
Girabola or Angolan Championship is the top division of the Angolan league, it is organized by the Angolan Football Federation, the winner and the runner up qualify for the CAF Champions League.
Girabola started the 8th of December and consisted of 24 teams which played 4 sets of 6 games.The first national champion was 1 de Agosto who beat National Benguela 2-1. The 14 best in the league formed the first division like this by 1980 Girabola was disputed by the best:
1 de Agosto, Nacional Benguela, TAAG, Palancas Huambo, Red Star (Mambroa), FC Uige, Uige Builders, Academic Lobito, Sport Chela's, Rail Huila, Green Devils (Sporting de Luanda), Santa Rita, Sassamba Lunda Sul, Sacred Hope.
